Lata Tondon is a Madhya Pradesh-based chef who is a member of Rewa’s aristocratic Digwani family, claims she has always aspired to be a cook. She was training as a professional chef in London when she broke a new world record in the field of cooking by winning the longest cooking marathon lasting 87 hours and 45 minutes. She cooked without taking a break for 81 hours.
She broke the previous record of 68 hours of nonstop cooking. The 39-year-old had previously competed in the International Indian Chef of the Year competition and placed first. She was also awarded the Guinness World Record for the same feat. As a result, Tandon became the first Indian and Asian to reach this milestone.
