G.Harish, a Kerala student, has created a large number of ‘best out of waste’ Lord Ganesha idols.
He has seen how Ganesh idols pollute water since he was a child. The Ganesh Chathurthi Festival is widely observed in cities such as Mumbai and Hyderabad. After the rituals and celebrations, large plaster of Paris Ganesha idols are plunged in water bodies and rivers, polluting the water and posing a threat to aquatic life.
So, 5 years ago, he had the notion to produce eco-friendly idols. And it was undeniably a tremendous success when he created his first Ganesha out of scrap newspaper. As a result, it helps to balance waste management while simultaneously saving the environment. His efforts were applauded by the media and newspapers.
Crushing newspapers and holding forms with paper tapes were all that was required to create the idols. To build an idol, he just utilized old newspaper and paper tapes, and for the color of the idols, he used watercolors that were non-toxic to the environment. So this is an action he took to help the environment while also being famous for his incredible record.
