Dr. Arjun Shukla, a Jabalpur local, received his higher education at Jabalpur’s Government Science College. He earned his doctorate on Biomonitoring of River Narmada and has done research on the control of water pollution in the river Narmada and the assessment of pollution without using chemicals. He is a Gold Medalist in B.Sc Biotechnology and M.Sc Zoology.
He authored 100 international research papers, 96 research abstracts, and 13 national science journals, 10 book chapters, and five books about his research. Not only that, but he presented his research at over 200 national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars, receiving over 80 awards and 25 fellowships, as well as being a lifetime member of 20 institutes and associations, serving on the advisory committees of ten international research institutes, and serving on the Board of Editors.
Dr. Arjun wrote the book Narmada Nadi Nahi Sabhyata, which is based on the confluence of the Ved Puranas. He also wrote the books Scientific Confluence of River Narmada, Navratri Smriti, Narmada Smriti, and Science for People and People for Science, which were all well-received.
Dr. Arjun has been teaching at the Government Home Science College in Jabalpur for the past seven years and has been working on Narmada research for the same time. He was named chairman of the National Society of India’s ESW Society (Environment and Welfare Jabalpur )’s section, as well as editor of the International Magazine Study Review and a subject specialist and chief guest in a number of institutes to inform students about his research.
He ha received awards for the Narmada Ratna, Vigyan Ratna, Bharat Bhushan Samman, International Young Scientist Award, Parayavaran Shri, Vigyan Bhushan, Environmentalist Award, Godavari Academy Paryavaran Yuva Gaurav Award, and International Life Time Best Researcher Award, he has also received the Godavari Academy Paryavaran Yuva Gaurav Award.
Some of his other works include, he also worked on cancer treatments with carrots, turmeric, and blister beetles, as well as dengue fever treatments including papaya, goat milk, and giloy. Treatment of thyroid with coriander, research on rust-free iron utilizing Agaria tribe technology, Treatment of Diabetes with Vastu Shastra Science, Identification of snakes in Madhya Pradesh and poison avoidance, and research on extinct species of Fish and Aves are all being done in Madhya Pradesh.
