Dr. Maggi Soni, a dentist and part-time fine artist from Madhya Pradesh, created the world’s largest painting of Lord Buddha on newspaper in 14 minutes using acrylic colors. Her research focuses on realism. She also enjoys working with perspective in her works.
She had previously experimented with surrealism, miniature art, still life, landscapes, seascapes, drawings, abstracts, and portraits in a wide range of media including oils, acrylics, watercolors, and pencils of graphite and charcoal.
She has always been an artistic child who liked to doodle. Painting and sketching, in particular, have always fascinated her interest.
She tried her hand at painting on and off over the years, but she couldn’t do it consistently because she was studying for her Bachelors of Dental Surgery at the time. She got busy with work, but she always found happiness and a sense of peace while creating art.
She registered for a National Art Exhibition in 2019, which was hosted at Canaries Art Gallery in Indore in 2020. She displayed five of her works of art there. She also took part in over 30 national and international online art competitions and exhibitions.
She came in second place in an online national art competition where she produced a painting of Rajwada Palace in the architectural category and received press recognition in publications.
She enjoys painting because she believes it is a good way to forget about the passage of time while also bringing calm and happiness into one’s life.
