In today’s society, tattoo artists are few and far between, and one such incredible human is Selwyn Santmajor, a mechanical engineer by profession who holds the record for having the world’s largest single-line hatching tattoo, in which the entire tattoo is made with single lines without any continuous stroke. It is 15 by 20 inches and completely covers the back. It took over 16 sessions and over 80 hours of needlework, totaling around six months. He developed this concept after years of research, dedication, and enthusiasm as a tattoo aficionado. And he was certain that this design would bring him glory soon.
A Navi Mumbai resident Selwyn has always been a creative youngster, and when he saw Rockstars and WWE wrestlers with tattoos as a kid, he was always surprised at how different a person looked in a tattoo. After growing up, he chose to get a tattoo for the first time. On his right upper arm, he got his first tattoo of Jesus Christ.
Breaking the record was a dream come true for him, but the pain he went through to obtain that tattoo has always been his incentive to win. Apart from being an engineer and a tattoo artist, he is also a full-time ‘Unplugged Artist’ who performs with his band “Not The Acoustic Average” throughout India.
